Director of Communication
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To support the mission, vision, and values of New Hope by leading and executing communication across all channels
POSITION REPORTING LEVEL
This position reports to the Executive Director and/or Senior Pastor
JOB TYPE
Full time 40 hours per week Non-exempt
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for using communication to reach others
· Brand Management for New Hope and all New Hope Ministries (monitor look, tone, and feel of all materials representing New Hope and develop policy and procedures related to branding)
· Oversee all written and digital communication (writing, editing, proofing for accuracy, on-brand tone, and appropriateness)
· Create and oversee communication strategies to communicate, inform, and promote the mission, vision, and values of New Hope, along with events, message series, ministry aspects, etc.
· Compile and deliver weekly announcements for distribution via appropriate channels (preservice, video, live, online campus)
· Work with Pastoral Staff to create cohesive message distribution each week
· Work with the Technical Arts Team for creative development of promotional digital media (internal and external)
· Lead effort for graphic creation for ministry areas
· Lead effort for all worship-related graphic creation with the Technical Arts Director
· Build and maintain all social media accounts or lead volunteers assigned to do so
· Build and maintain all aspects of websites associated with New Hope
· Work with Campus Director to maintain the church calendar
· Work with appropriate leaders in brainstorming and creative development
· Continually looking for ways to communicate existing church-wide and ministry events in creative ways that will evoke a response from the congregation and community
· Create and fulfill all orders for outsourced promotional items and needs, including, but not limited to, holidays, events, and branding items
· Work with local promotional channels in the community as needed (digital, newspaper, family resources)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum – 1-2 years of college or 1-2 years of related experience in communication
Minimum – 1-2 years of related experience in dealing with ChMS
