Generous Living: Your Gift Can Grow Hope

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)

Hello New Hope Family,

Have you ever noticed how the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air even before you taste it? Generosity is very similar. Before it can be seen or measured, it is felt. Like good coffee, generosity transforms the atmosphere, awakens the senses, and comforts those around it.

Just as coffee doesn’t reveal its true flavor until it’s shared, a generous life reaches its fullness when it flows toward others. Each seed, like every act of kindness, needs to be ground, processed, and offered for its essence to be released. And when we do it with love, the result is something of supreme quality, a life that reflects the heart of Christ.

In this season, we invite you to savor that abundant life of generosity. It’s not just about giving but about living in such a way that every action, every word, and every resource carries the aroma of God’s Kingdom.

During our “Generous Living” series, we’ve been reminded that generosity is not campaign, it’s a culture. It’s one of the clearest expressions of our spiritual growth and the evidence that Christ truly lives in us. Now, if you think I went too far by saying that, perhaps you haven’t read what Jesus said: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13) In a world that teaches us to accumulate, Jesus calls us to give. In a culture that invites us to make ourselves the center, the Gospel calls us to step aside and place Christ at the center.

A generous life is not about how much we have, but about how we administer what God has entrusted to us. Luke 12:48 reminds us, “To whom much is given, much will be required.” Every talent, every resource, every opportunity we have is a divine seed placed in our hands to bless others.

That’s why we need to take this series to the next level, so we’re inviting you to join the… drumroll… 2025 Talent Challenge!!!

What can God do with what’s in your hands?

Inspired by the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), we’re inviting you to multiply a small gift into a big impact for families in Hillsborough County experiencing homelessness.

You’ve been entrusted with a gift.

Now it’s your turn to get creative. Use your time, talents, or recourses to grow that gift, then bring the fruit of your efforts back this December for a special celebration and fundraiser.

How does it work?

  • You will receive a starter gift of $10 at church.

  • Use your talent: baking, building, crafting, performing, organizing, you name it, to grow that gift.

  • On December 7, take part in our Talent Fair, where you can showcase or sell what you’ve created, or simply return what you’ve raised.

Why does it matter?

  • All proceeds support Family Promise of Hillsborough County, helping local families find housing and long-term stability, because every child deserves a home.

  • Your creativity can spark change.

  • Your gift can grow hope.

Learn more at: www.familypromisefl.org. All earnings must be returned to the church by December 14, 2025.

This is more than a financial challenge; it’s a spiritual growth opportunity. God is calling us to use what we have to transform lives. Whatever your gift is, God can multiply it when you place it in His hands.

This challenge is not about the $10, it’s about the trust! It’s about hearts that choose to care and share. Because giving out of obligation is religion; but giving out of love is GENEROUS LIVING.

So, church, let’s get to work! Let’s make our faith visible, our love tangible, and our hope contagious.

Dios les bendiga,
Pastors Roberto & Yamiley
