Made New — Baptism Sunday July 26

There is a moment in the life of faith when something private becomes public — when a person decides to stand up and say, out loud and in front of everyone: I belong to Jesus now.

That moment is baptism. And on Sunday, July 26, we are setting aside a whole morning to celebrate it.

"If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here." — 2 Corinthians 5:17

That is what baptism declares. Not that we have cleaned ourselves up or earned our place, but that God has already made us new. Baptism is simply going public with what He has already done.

A Celebration for the Whole Church

Baptism Sunday is one of our favorite mornings of the year — and you do not have to be the one getting baptized to be part of it. One of the best things you can do is show up and cheer someone on. Bring a friend, a neighbor, or the family member you have been praying for, and come ready to celebrate.

We'll celebrate the sacrament of baptism as part of our worship services — in the main sanctuary, and, at the very same time, in Logan Hall with our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters. One church, two languages, two locations — all celebrating the amazing sacrament of baptism together.

Considering Baptism?

If you have put your faith in Jesus and have been thinking about baptism, this is your invitation to take the next step. You do not need to have it all figured out. You just need to be ready to say yes.

To help you prepare, Pastor Roberto is leading a baptism class during Recharge on the two Wednesdays beforehand — July 15 and July 22 at 6:30 PM. Come to whichever one works for you.
