Mozambique Reflection – October 2025
God was with me every moment of the trip. The staff, the experiences, and the roller coaster of emotions were at times overwhelming—but in the most beautiful way.
It was an amazing journey with the Foundation for Orphans (f4o) and Zoe Empowers teams. Their hard work, warm smiles, loving spirits, and professionalism were truly top-notch. The beautiful photos and videos they captured allowed me to stay fully present and truly soak in all that God was offering during my time in Mozambique. I will cherish those moments forever.
The partnership we share with f4o and Zoe Empowers will only continue to grow stronger and deeper in the years to come. God is on the move, and His glory continues to shine through this work.
On Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, before heading to church, the devotional in The Upper Room titled “It’s Not About Me” spoke about how, as followers of Jesus, we are called to carry one another’s burdens:
“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
I felt that message deeply as I witnessed the love and community in Chimoio—especially in the way we were welcomed into each village. You could feel the uncontainable sense of hope and joy that filled the air, despite the challenges many faced. During prayer time, everyone prayed aloud, and it reminded me of Scripture describing one nation, many tongues, all lifted in praise.
The overwhelming emotions I was feeling made me reflect on my own burdens—but they are nothing compared to what my brothers and sisters in Mozambique face each day. Yet, despite their challenges, their faith, joy, and resilience shine so brightly. In that moment, the Holy Spirit came upon me, and I experienced a powerful time of spiritual cleansing—tears galore!
This trip changed me in several ways. I need to slow down, count my blessings, pray more intentionally, seek guidance and discernment in prayer, and continue to show and share the love I have because of my Savior. I also look forward to raising awareness and communicating the needs surrounding the orphan crisis in Mozambique.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
This trip was a vivid reminder that God is moving in powerful ways, even in the most challenging circumstances. I am grateful for every person I met, the relationships I formed, every moment I witnessed, and the lessons I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
