A Season of Prayer & Fasting: Join New Hope This July and August

A Season to Seek God Together

As the Amos series comes to a close, Pastor Vicki sensed the Lord leading New Hope into something simple and significant: a season of prayer and fasting through July and August.

God is moving here — but we want to seek Him in every area of our church and our community. We need wisdom. We need direction. And God doesn't speak only to clergy, staff, and leaders. He speaks to all of us. Every single person's prayers matter.

What It Is

A daily prayer guide and a weekly fast, running July 1 through August 31:

  • Pray every day. One short, focused prompt for each day of the season — for New Hope, our families, our leaders, our mission partners, and our community. The whole calendar fits on a single page.

  • Fast every Thursday morning. We're inviting everyone to fast in some capacity each Thursday. If you can't fast from food, fast from television or social media instead. Use the time you'd normally spend to pray.

  • Keep a journal, if you feel led. Write down what you're hearing. How is God speaking to you?

Why Prayer, and Why Now

Prayer is the engine room of the church. It's our foundation. The hope is simple: that everyone connected with New Hope would take a moment each day to pray — and that this guide would make it easy to start.

Seasons like this aren't about doing more for its own sake. They're about turning our attention back to God together, as one church family, at the same time.

How to Join

  1. Pick up the calendar. Grab a printed copy at New Hope, or download it to your phone so it's with you each morning. (Download link below.)

  2. Pray daily. Follow the prompt for each day. It takes a minute.

  3. Fast on Thursdays. From food, or from TV or social media — whatever you're able to offer.

  4. Invite someone. Share the calendar with a friend, a family member, or your group. This is for the whole community, not just a few.
