Live Like No One Else

You were designed with purpose, on purpose.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10

There’s a phrase I often jokingly use with my family:

“You are unique… just like everyone else!”

But in reality, that statement doesn’t do justice to the truth. God created each of us with unique characteristics—strengths and weaknesses that make our families, teams, and communities thrive.

Our differences are a gift from our heavenly Father. As financial teacher Dave Ramsey likes to say about relationships (especially marriage): “If two people are exactly alike, then one of them is unnecessary.”

The same is true in life and faith. Don’t be worried if you don’t fit in, especially if your difference comes from following Jesus. In fact, that’s exactly how God designed it. We are called to live set apart, to live with purpose, and to live like no one else.

God made you uniquely for a reason. All He asks is that you love His Son, Jesus—and trust Him to work out the rest.

So, embrace your uniqueness. Be thankful for the differences you see in yourself and others. And live your life like no one else—so that one day, you can live like no one else in the fullness of God’s design.

The Challenge: Since this is Thanksgiving Day, spend each day this weekend thanking God for one unique gift or quality He has given you. Then, look for one way to use that gift to bless someone else.
