Keep Dating Your Spouse
Intentional love in everyday moments helps a marriage stay strong over time.
Theme: Dating
Verse: "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." - Mark 10:9
My good friend Cathy recently celebrated her parents' 70th wedding anniversary. What a beautiful testimony of God's faithfulness and enduring love.
Hearing about their milestone ties in so well with this week's devotional topic: dating. While we often think of dating as something for young, single people, it's just as important within marriage. At its heart, dating is about honoring one another, being intentional, and nurturing the bond God has brought together.
Marriage is a covenant, and like any relationship, it requires care and attention. Dating your spouse doesn't always have to include grand gestures or elaborate plans. Sometimes it's found in the quiet, everyday moments: asking meaningful questions, truly listening, and remembering the blessings and memories you've shared together.
When we continue to invest in our marriages with the same love and intention we had in the beginning, we reflect Christ's love: steadfast, patient, and enduring.
"Let all that you do be done in love." - 1 Corinthians 16:14
With God at the center, and a commitment to keep "dating" one another through the years, we build a foundation that can last a lifetime and, by His grace, even 70 years or more.
Have a GREAT week.
