Congregational Letter: Rejoicing in God’s Goodness
This Is the Day the Lord Has Made
Congregational Letter – February 5, 2026
“This is the day the Lord has made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ at New Hope,
As I sit here writing this letter, I am reminded of God’s goodness in our lives and in our church. Even when things are hard, we can still rejoice because we have a God who walks with us and loves us. We are never alone.
How have you experienced God’s goodness this week? Take some time to pause and give thanks.
Bishop Mark Webb, Bishop Global Methodist Church
What’s Going on at New Hope?
Meet Our Bishop
In the Global Methodist Church, each conference is assigned a bishop to serve as a spiritual leader, guardian of doctrine, and supporter of local churches in mission.
If you are interested in meeting our conference’s bishop, Mark Webb, there will be a laity evening on February 11 from 6:30–8:00 PM at St. John’s Church in Sarasota.
Conferences – Time to Sign Up
Our Women of Hope Delight Conference is coming up on February 21. This is a wonderful event to invite friends and neighbors to experience God’s goodness together. With meaningful worship, engaging speakers, and a variety of breakout sessions, this conference is designed for women of all ages and stages in their faith journey.
Two weeks later, we will host our T3 Men’s Conference on March 7. This will be an incredible day featuring a strong keynote speaker and a wide range of breakout sessions.
If you have not yet signed up, please do so soon. All registration information is available on our church website.
Ash Wednesday
If you can believe it, the season of Lent is almost upon us. We will hold an Ash Wednesday service on February 18 at 6:30 PM in Logan Hall. This service will be a meaningful time of worship, reflection, and the imposition of ashes as we begin our journey toward Easter Sunday.
Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
Blessings,
Pastor Vicki
Have a great week.
