Learning from Jesus: The Sermon on the Mount
Two thousand years ago, Jesus sat down on a hillside and delivered the most famous sermon in history.
In it, He laid out a completely different way to be human — a life where the poor in spirit are blessed, enemies are loved, worry loses its grip, and anything built on His words holds when the storms come.
This fall, New Hope Church is spending six weeks learning from Jesus — walking straight through the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7) and letting it answer the questions all of us carry:
The World According to Jesus (August 16) — What kind of world do the Beatitudes describe? Matthew 5
Identity: Who Are We? (August 23) — Salt, light, and what it means to belong to Jesus. Matthew 5:13–16
Morality: How Shall We Live? (August 30) — Loving enemies and going the second mile. Matthew 5:38–48
Connection: How Do We Pray? (September 6) — The prayer Jesus taught, and why it changes us. Matthew 6:5–13
Hope: What Does the Future Hold? (September 13) — Treasure, worry, and where real security lives. Matthew 6:19–24
Certainty: What Is Truth? (September 20) — Two builders, two foundations, one storm. Matthew 7:15–29
Whether you've followed Jesus for years or you're just curious what He actually taught, there's a place for you here — no church background needed. We'll take His words seriously and ask what they mean for our lives right now.
Join us Sundays at 9:30 AM starting August 16 — and en Español at 9:30 & 11:30 in Logan Hall. Bring your questions, and bring a friend.
