SPARK: Friday Nights for Kids at New Hope
Friday night, the Wesley Building gets loud.
There are games going in one corner and music going in another, a room full of kids who came straight from school or straight from dinner, and a team of grown-ups who have been looking forward to this all week. That's SPARK — and if you have a kid between age 4 and eighth grade, there's a spot for them.
Safe, accepted, known. That's the phrase Pastor Julie used when SPARK launched, and it's still what we build the night around. A kid who walks in not knowing anybody should leave having been welcomed by name.
What a Friday Night Looks Like
Games and a whole lot of noise. Music. Time with friends, and time to make new ones. And a story from the Bible about who Jesus is and what he's done — told in a way that makes sense to a second grader and still holds a seventh grader's attention.
Kids from the neighborhood are genuinely welcome here, not just kids whose families already come to New Hope. If your child wants to bring a friend, bring the friend.
The Details
When: Fridays, 6:30–8:30 PM
This fall: nine Fridays, September 18 through November 13 (we break for Thanksgiving)
Who: ages 4 through 8th grade — kids must have completed VPK, with a September 1 cutoff
Where: the Wesley Building at New Hope Church, 115 N Knights Ave, Brandon, FL 33510
Cost: free

SPARK runs on volunteers — people who play the games, run the sound, greet kids at the door and learn their names. No experience needed, and there's room for every age and stage: lead from the front or serve quietly behind the scenes.
