"Falling in Love with Jesus: Go Where Jesus Goes” | Rev. Vicki Harrison
Love Leads to Movement
As we close our series Falling in Love with Jesus, Pastor Vicki reminds us that loving Jesus is never passive.
In week one, we learned that if we fall in love with Jesus, we love who He loves.
In week two, we learned that we pray how He prays.
Last week, we were reminded to teach how He teaches.
And now, the final step: we go where Jesus goes.

“You Will Be My Witnesses”
Pastor Vicki anchors this message in Acts 1:8:
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
These were some of Jesus’ final words before His ascension. They were not a suggestion. They were a commissioning.
The early disciples—poor, largely uneducated, living under Roman oppression—took Him seriously. They became witnesses. They made disciples who made disciples. And every one of us today is a beneficiary of their obedience.
From Jerusalem to Ireland.
From Judea to Western Europe.
From Samaria to the Americas.
The gospel reached us because someone went.
All People Everywhere
What does “the ends of the earth” mean in 2026?
It means all people everywhere.
Pastor Vicki challenges us to rethink how we interpret Acts 1:8. It’s not multiple choice. It’s not “pick your favorite location.” Jesus names Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth because His mission has always been global.
From the beginning, God’s redemptive plan was for the whole world (Isaiah 46:10). We serve a missionary God.
But here’s the powerful truth:
The ends of the earth may begin at the end of your street.
Across the Street and Across the Sea
Jesus constantly crossed boundaries.
He went to the other side of the lake into pagan territory.
He sought out the demon-possessed man called Legion.
He met the Samaritan woman at the well.
He invited Himself to Zacchaeus’ house.
He didn’t wait for people to come to Him.
He went to them.
The early church followed His example. Sometimes that meant crossing oceans. Sometimes it meant crossing the street.
For some of us, going may mean:
Building a relationship with a neighbor.
Praying intentionally for a coworker.
Discipling someone who already believes but needs guidance.
For others, it may mean:
Supporting or serving our sister churches in Cuba.
Praying for Mozambique, Sudan, or Nigeria.
Saying “yes” if God calls you beyond your comfort zone.
No one gets a pass. Disciples make disciples.
Start With Your Map
In a powerful, participatory moment, Pastor Vicki asked us to map our neighborhoods and relationships.
Who lives next door?
Who do you see at the gym, the store, your workplace?
Do you know their names?
Do you know their stories?
You are not where you are by accident.
God has strategically placed you.
Circle one or two names. Pray intentionally. Build relationship. Love deeply. Share boldly when the Spirit opens the door.
Because we receive power from the Holy Spirit to be witnesses—not in our own strength, but in His.
Beautiful Feet
The message closes with Romans 10:
“How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? … How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.”
There is a world that needs Jesus.
And He is calling us to go.
Know. Grow. Go.
At New Hope, our mission is clear: Know Jesus. Grow Faith. Go Multiply.
To fall in love with Jesus is to follow Him wherever He leads—into our neighborhoods, into our workplaces, into hard conversations, and even to the ends of the earth.
We exist to reach the lost and empower future generations through a multi-ethnic movement of disciples who make disciples.
So ask yourself:
Where is Jesus going?
And will you go with Him?
