Do You Ever Feel Like God Is Late?

Have you ever waited for something so long it felt like it would never come? Whether it’s healing, direction, or change—waiting can shake your faith. But what if the waiting isn’t a sign of God’s absence, but evidence of His perfect plan?

In week two of Sing Me The Story, Pastor Vicki Harrison takes us deep into the song of the prophet Isaiah—a song written 700 years before Jesus was born.

Watch the full service video or listen to the sermon audio player to hear how even in chaos, God was composing a song of redemption.

Even in Chaos, God Was Already Singing

Isaiah 9:6–7 is one of the most beloved Advent prophecies:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given...”

But Pastor Vicki reminded us this was written during:

  • Political instability: Assyria threatened Israel like ISIS at the border.

  • Spiritual corruption: Priests and kings had abandoned justice and God’s law.

  • National fear: People were desperate and wondering if God had forgotten them.

Yet in the middle of darkness, Isaiah sang of hope, light, and a coming King.

Why Does That Matter Today?

Because like Israel, we live in a time of:

  • Broken systems

  • Heavy burdens

  • Spiritual drift

And just like then, God is still speaking—sometimes through prophets, sometimes through songs, always through His Word.

Isaiah’s song wasn’t just poetry—it was prophetic precision:

  • Born of a virgin? Isaiah 7:14

  • A suffering servant? Isaiah 52–53

  • Light for the nations? Isaiah 9

Every prophecy fulfilled. Every word intentional. Every delay divine.

Faith That Trusts the Bigger Picture

Galatians 4:4 tells us:

“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son...”

God wasn’t rushing. He was orchestrating—through empires, languages, and longing hearts. If God did that for Jesus, can’t we trust Him with our lives too?

“God is never late, never uncertain, never reactive.” – Pastor Vicki

You may not see the whole picture right now, but you’re still part of His plan. What feels like silence may actually be setup.
