"He Is Alive!” April 5, Easter 2026 | Rev. Vicki Harrison
Mary came to the tomb carrying grief, questions, and a barrier she could not move on her own. But when she arrived, the stone had already been rolled away. In John 20, Pastor Vicki Harrison showed how that first Easter morning still speaks to us now: what we cannot do for ourselves, God has already done through Jesus Christ.
Across Lent, the Journey of Stones theme helped New Hope name the sins, burdens, and barriers we carry. On Easter, those stones gave way to flowers and freedom. The message was clear and deeply personal: the stone has been rolled away for you too. Jesus is alive, forgiveness is real, and no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace.
The sermon also pointed to one of the clearest evidences of the resurrection: transformed lives. From public testimonies to everyday stories of reconciliation, healing, gratitude, and fresh starts, Easter is still visible wherever Jesus changes hearts. That is why Easter cannot stay contained to one Sunday morning. As Pastor Vicki challenged the church, the question is whether Easter will fade into memory or shape the way we live on Monday, Tuesday, and beyond.
Because Jesus lives, we are free to live like Easter people: remembering what He has done, walking in new life, and trusting that resurrection hope still meets real life.
Join us at New Hope Church and keep walking in the freedom, forgiveness, and new life Jesus has made possible.
